Ahead IO

Ahead.IO is a cutting-edge design and innovation studio that combines technology and creativity to develop solutions for industries such as robotics, augmented reality, and advanced manufacturing. Known for their forward-thinking approach, Ahead.IO actively integrates 3D printing into their workflows, enabling rapid prototyping and the creation of highly specialized components for their projects.

At our showcase, we are featuring two key components of their animal-like robotic system: the left femur piece and a specific holder for the magnet used in the hall effect sensor (end-axis motor resolver). These parts are typically printed using Bambu Lab PC filament to withstand the stress and heat generated by the motors, which often exceed 100 degrees Celsius. Each robot comprises 256 separate 3D-printable pieces, and each has undergone 150-200 design iterations, highlighting the meticulous engineering and optimization involved.

3D printing has been pivotal for Ahead.IO in pushing the boundaries of robotics, allowing for quick design refinements and the creation of durable, high-performance parts. This technology underscores their commitment to innovation, enabling them to tackle complex challenges with precision and efficiency.
