Team Sonnenwagen

Team Sonnenwagen Aachen is a student-led initiative from RWTH Aachen University, dedicated to designing, building, and racing solar-powered vehicles. Since 2015, the team has developed cutting-edge solar cars, combining engineering expertise with a passion for sustainable mobility. Their vehicles have competed in prestigious events like the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia and the iLumen European Solar Challenge in Belgium, showcasing their commitment to innovation and performance.

As proud sponsors, we recently visited Team Sonnenwagen and were inspired by their dedication and ingenuity. In the near future, key components for their solar car will be 3D printed using our X1E printer—potentially even during the grueling desert race in Australia. This collaboration underscores the power of advanced manufacturing in pushing the boundaries of sustainable engineering.
